What Happens When Life Imitates Art -- and Art Is All Murder and
Mayhem? The Theater Project presents a staged reading/ discussion of
William Mastrosimone's play Like Totally Weird.
Two teens, obsessed fans or high body-count films, steal into a
Hollywood mansion to meet their idols, a film producer and his
leading lady. But these mega-stars soon find themselves trapped
in a reenactment of their own "body-bag" action thriller, a
frightening scenario of their own making. This edgy,
suspenseful drama portrays what can happen when life imitates
art--and art is all murder and mayhem.
The post-show discussion will be chaired by author Bill Mesce, Jr., whose recent book,
Overkill,
examines the escalation of violence in the Hollywood thriller.
