Zagat Review: Close to "perfect", this "spectacular" Maplewood BYO overseen by chef Humberto Campos Jr. offers "sublime" cuisine with such "superb attention to detail" that it's rated NJ's Top French restaurant; granted, it's "unaffordable on a regular basis" and the ultra-"compact" setting means "you'll need to reserve weeks in advance", but given the "flawless" service and "super-romantic" mood, many say it "doesn't get any better" than this.

Serving good pub grub in an authentic environment, St. James's is a nice spot to catch up with friends over a pint or two. The bar top and tables are appropriately weathered, and true to the establishment's Irish roots—St. James Gate, Dublin—it serves Guinness, dark and delicious. It also has a nice selection of Irish Whiskey and single malt Scotch. Be sure to stop by on the weekends to catch some live music.

This long, narrow and attractively lit restaurant/bakery is known for its specialty coffees and signature omelets, as well as Indian specials. In Maplewood since 1993, Village Coffee offers an assortment of wraps and 20 different kinds of cookies. Sit in the bustling dining area in the back for one of 18 different omelets, read the newspaper in a quiet corner or grab a flavored latte for a little extra stroller-pushing energy. Breakfast is available until 4 p.m. every day!
