A message from Mark Spina
and all of us at The Theater Project
2024 is coming up fast—and TTP wants to meet it head-on. We need your help to keep going. After all, no George Bailey can exist without everyone from Bedford Falls!
December 2023
Dear Friend,
After last year’s triumphant return to live theater, it probably doesn’t surprise you that The Theater Project charged into 2023 with even more ambitious goals. If there’s one thing about us, we’re always looking to the future—and for opportunities to keep bringing introspective storytelling and thought-provoking conversation to the community.
This summer, we mounted a successful season of three productions in just eight weeks at the Burgdorff Center in Maplewood:
Sunset Park, a new play by TTP’s award-winning playwright, Joseph Vitale;
Kaleidoscope Kabaret, a showcase of work from our Playwrights Workshop and Young Playwrights Competition; and the audience-interaction comedy,
Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage!
But there’s more (there always is with The Theater Project):
Plus, compared to last year, we’re so thrilled—and grateful-–to see attendance has risen for our mainstage performances. Live theater is coming back, and we want to thank you for choosing to join us for its return.
We couldn’t have put on a 2023 season without you—but we can’t keep running on ticket sales alone. As actor Kevin Sebastian reminds us in the video, we know your inbox has been flooded with emails from stores, online retailers, and charities galore, all hoping that you can stuff their stockings at the end of the year.
But what if, instead, you can stuff many people’s stockings all at once—giving them a gift that will last them not only through the holidays, but maybe even the rest of their lives?
2024 is coming up fast—and TTP wants to meet it head-on. We need your help to keep going. After all, no George Bailey can exist without everyone from Bedford Falls!
Help us
keep the momentum going for next year—which happens to be
our 30th anniversary! Consider a gift by mail or make your gift today by visiting
https://www.thetheaterproject.org/donate.
Make your gift by December 31st so you can claim it as a charitable deduction on your 2023 taxes.
And if you or your spouse’s/partner’s company has a
matching gift program, you could
double your gift to TTP.
As always, we’re thankful for your continued commitment to helping us keep the arts alive.
Happy holidays, and best wishes for a fantastic New Year!
Mark Spina, Artistic Director
ALL ARE WELCOME
The arts have brought people together for thousands of years, and The Theater Project is a small part of that proud tradition. We strive to make everyone—audience, artists, and technicians—feel welcome and seen, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, or presence of a disability. We aim to provide opportunities for the open exchange of ideas as our contribution towards a more inclusive and compassionate society.
These programs are made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey Arts & Culture Renewal Fund of the Princeton Area Community Foundation, the Essex County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and by the generosity of our many sponors and donors.
