A FREE art & storytelling workshop for high-school aged youth, June 2021.
Teens were guided through fun, interactive drama games, and creative writing exercises to utilize theater as an outlet to express themselves. Participants created a virtual theater performance that tells their stories and addresses issues important to them, which will be shared on the third night of the workshop.
Saharra is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Community-engaged Theatre Artist, and Public Health researcher from New Jersey. She received her MA in Educational Theatre from NYU and BS in Health Behavior Science from the University of Delaware. She has a passion for using theatre and storytelling for health and social justice work, as well as community building.
Anna is a theater artist and educator. Anna holds a BA in Theater from Penn State and is currently completing her MA in Educational Theater at NYU. Anna is an NYC based actor and devises plays as an ensemble member of the Journalists Theater Company. Anna is passionate about using theater as a tool for self-reflection, addressing difficult issues, and promoting community dialogue.
